With ISIS, the beheading in Nebraska, President Obama making ridiculous claims and statements, a few issues bear analysis.
First is the claim of some Muslim leaders condemning what happened in Nebraska and ISIS as not being Islamic. We need to understand the Koran and Muslim theology says a Muslim can lie to a non-Muslim. A simple internet search gives pages of proofs the Koran and Allah supports lying as a means to an end.
Here is one example:
Next is the claim, by some, that Muslim and Islam are not the same things. Fact is Islam means submission and obedience to Allah and his law and Muslim means one who is submissive and obedient to Allah and his law. So how can you really separate the terms?
They try to claim Islam means peace in Arabic. It does not, salam means peace.
They also try to claim it is in the Bible. It is not, Salem, not Salam, is in the Bible, and was the name of a city that later became Jerusalem. Complete different word.
Then there is the claim by some Islam does not teach killing non-believers and beheading.
The problem here is it the same as trying to get people to understand the difference between being Christian or a Christians Cult.
Just like going to Christ and the Bible for answers, we go to the Koran and Mohammed.
Food for thought. If you want more, do Internet searches.
Mohammed spread Islam by the sword, not preaching.
In AD 627, Muhammad committed an atrocity against the last remaining major tribe of Jews in Medina: the Qurayza. He beheaded the men and the pubescent boys and enslaved the women and children. They ceased to exist as a tribe.
He had 12 wives, including a 9 year girl.
The deeper you dig into their history the farther the reality and truth becomes from the facts.
There is a lot of hatred and fighting between various Muslim groups. If you do not belong to their beliefs you are not considered Muslim.
Regarding non violent Muslims, I will relate personal experience. Having been involved in government in an official capacity I had involvement with some Muslims.
One time I, and other officials, along with various religious organization leaders were invited to a special event. There were Muslims there whose wives would not speak to a non Muslim. Shaking hands was not going to be welcomed. There were others there more liberal.
I say that to set the stage for the key point of the gathering. That being to try to persuade us to accept and allow Muslim communities (they do separate from non Muslims) to allow their communities to be governed by Sharia Law, not US law.
To put it in a nut shell, they did not get support from us. But there was an Obama justice official there pushing us to give them what they wanted.
I hope this thread gives pause for thought to those who see no problems with Islam. There is.

It also has to be understood some making the denials have connections to radicals in the Mid-East.

Also look at history. Under the Islamic Empires if you were not a Muslim, you didn't have legal protection, didn't have any rights, could not practice your religion or talk about it openly, etc.The terrorist element in Islam may not be shared by most Muslims but it cannot be denied it is a part of Islam and prevalent in countries that have an Islamic government. The radical fundamentalists cannot be ignored or denied as part of this religion, which influence becomes just as much social and political as it is religious. Certainly it is true that not all Muslims are terrorists, however the majority of Terrorists are Muslim.
