Revelation 12v1&2 - [KJV]
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
Firstly if you have never heard of this sign let me explain...
- The wonder is in Heaven - which Heaven? The First Heaven, the Second Heaven or the Third Heaven. The 1st Heaven is where the birds fly. The 2nd Heaven where the celestial bodies are. And the 3rd Heaven is where God resides. [See Genesis 1v7&14&20 & 2 Corinthians 12v2]. Since it refers to the Sun, the Moon and the Stars we know it must be in the Second Heaven.
Genesis 1v7 - [KJV] And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.Genesis 1v14 - [KJV] And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:Genesis 1v20 - [KJV] And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.2 Corinthians 12v2 - [KJV] I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth; such an one caught up to the third heaven.
- Who is the Woman in the Second Heaven? We know from Rev 12v5 that she is the mother of someone who will rule with a rod of iron. We know that this child is metaphorically Jesus because of....
Rev 2v27 - [KJV] And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.Revelation 12v5 - [KJV] And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne
- The Mazzaroth is the Hebrew word for constellation and occurs first in the book of Job which is the oldest book of the bible.
Job 38v32 Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? - [KJV]Genesis 1v14 - [KJV] And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
- The constellation known as Virgo (Latin for Virgin) is therefore a good fit for the celestial Woman in the 2nd Heaven.
- Once a year the Sun moves alongside Virgo and "clothes the woman".
- Once every 19 years the moon is at the feet of the constellation.
- Once every 12 years Jupiter moves through the constellation but only once every 83 years does it via retrograde motion gyrate through Virgo's Womb for a period equivalent to 9.5 months. This 9.5 months is symbolic of human pregnancy. No other planet does this. Jupiter is known as the King planet (Jesus who is yet to become King on Earth is therefore represented by this planet). This planets motions are therefore a good fit for...
Revelation 12v2 - [KJV] And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
- Mercury, Mars and Venus often move through this region but very rarely do they all align with the star Regulus.
- Leo is the constellation that is above Virgo with 9 fixed stars. Planets (planētēs) are known as wondering stars. This means that Mercury, Mars and Venus and the 9 stars of Leo make up the 12 stars crowning her head.
