son had a question about who are the watchers.

in daneil is the only place I know where they are spoken mentioned of.

any help appreciated.

I will try.

This is yet again an issue created by bad translations in the KJV.
Daniel 4:17King James Version (KJV)
17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

Daniel 4:17New American Standard Bible (NASB)

17 “This sentence is by the decree of the angelic watchers
And the decision is a command of the holy ones,
In order that the living may know
That the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind,
And bestows it on whom He wishes
And sets over it the lowliest of men.”
Daniel 4:17New International Version (NIV)
17 “‘The decision is announced by messengers, the holy ones declare the verdict, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people.’
The KJV says "watchers" followed by the NASB saying "angelic watchers" and the NIV saying "messengers."

Here is the definition of the word translated above.

Definition
  1. messenger, representative
    1. messenger
    2. angel
    3. the theophanic angel
We are also told in the Bible angels are watching us, including each believer having at least one guardian angel.

"Watcher" is a role, not a kind of being. Hence messenger is the best translation. since "Holy Ones" define them as angels.
