Ephesians 6:5-8

KJV 5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; 6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; 7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: 8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

YLT 5 The servants! obey the masters according to the flesh with fear and trembling, in the simplicity of your heart, as to the Christ; 6 not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but as servants of the Christ, doing the will of God out of soul, 7 with good-will serving, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8 having known that whatever good thing each one may do, this he shall receive from the Lord, whether servant or freeman.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

5 This applies to slave but also can be said about workers and bosses. We are to listen and respect those who are our bosses. We don’t have to fear our bosses but that word means we should respect them and it should show in our actions.

6 We should work as hard even when the boss isn’t around. We should not just work to please people but be a hard worker to please the Lord.

7 We may work for men but we ultimately work for the Lord and how we work should show that. That means often times we go beyond what we have to do to get by.

8 God wants all the believers to have this working attitude for Him. No matter what background the reward is on the same level.
