1 John 3:16-17
KJV 16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
WEB 16 By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. 17 But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

16 We know God’s love by the cross but thru us be given the Holy Spirit. The cross is still the greatest show of love and will always be nothing else will come even close. We should be willing to die for God by dying for one another. The Disciples died for faith but they never consider it a lose but something of service and this is how we should look at it, to love is to be willing to die for each other if it comes to that.

17 If we have means but don’t help. We cant have love if we have to give but don’t, if we aren’t willing to give then why would we be willing to lay down our lives for each other.
