Let's face it, the problem with the book of Mormon is that it says it was written in reformed Egyptian Hieroglyphics. That must be a bit like modern simplified Chinese Kanji. I'm not even going to try to comment on the historicity of that account, or the veracity of the assertions (the core assertion is the Jesus appeared to North Americans after his resurrections). It's the fact that it was written in Egyptian. I just know too much about that branch of quote unquote spiritual studies to accept something connected to them.
