Ephesians 4:11-12

KJV11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

These are my thoughts, please share yours.


11 Some people were meant to be apostles the modern day of this most likely would be missionaries. Prophets are those that proclaim God’s word this can involve future events but not always Jonah was a prophet called to preach turning to God to avoid the coming judgment this was not a future message but a message saying what they needed to do then. Evangelists are often those who preach to the lost being them into the fold and showing them the light. Pastors are to aid and help guide other Christians. Teachers teach the word using it most cases to show what we should be doing to live for the Lord. All the roles are needed for the church to grow with God’s plan and we all should attempt on some level to do all these things as the Lord leads us to opportunity.


12 This is the reason for these roles that the Christians can be the best thru Jesus that they can be. That ministering to the lost and the church can be done and that the church can be build up these roles fulfill the great commission.
