Do we need prophet's today?

Why do we need prophets when we have the bible? Well, the simple answer is it is one of the gifts Jesus gave to the church to help equip us until He returns. (Ephesians 4: 9-16)

There are many attributes to this gift and one of them covered in this video is timing. Will you listen? Will you prepare and be ready? God uses prophets to tell us what time it is. Another way of saying it is -Do you know what time it is? And will you be ready?

Hey honey, "Do you know all the money you borrowed and gambled away, well the bill is coming due to pay it back! what are you going to do about it?"

Do we need prophets?
What other useful attributes of a prophet have you thought of?
Or do we need Jesus’s ministry at all today or can we each go it on our own? What do think?
Here’s a short video on some thoughts on that subject I made.

I don't accept the premise of the question. On simpler terms, did you not receive new revelation to know God to receive the gift of salvation, or revelation to continue to grow in Christ was it not new to you. Prophets are not creating new revelation. Even though it may be new to you. They speak the heart of God when people have lost their way. John didn't give us new revelation besides the words Christ had for the individual churches. He was reiterating God's plan for the final judgement which was consistent with what God has already shown us about himself, and has conveyed through apostle and prophets from the beginning.
Such a good job has been done shutting out these two other ministry gifts that now we have so much division and folks living in sin because they excommunicated these gifts from Church that kept the idea of following one. So now there are so many christian living in sin because God revelation is no longer part of their on going equipping from these two gifts. It like saying, " God, I only want to hear part of what you speaking that way I can decide on the rest myself." I am glad Paul made the observation of what was in a spirit filled church. Telling us about the Lord work through the ministry gifts He provided until he returns. That is the short of answer the rest is not worth debating, because everyone will believe what they believe.

Knowledge of what we need for salvation is provided in the Bible. The Holy Spirit indeed speaks to everyone, but that is not new prophecy.

All of the gifts still exists, but the Pentecostals miss define them. The Bible is quite clear the gift of the Holy Spirit is given at the point of salvation and the gift of prophecy is given to some, but not everyone.

The rich man in hell in answer to his question was told the Bible gives all that is needed for salvation.

Granted, there are many that have no understanding of the gifts. Some of the claim. There are no longer given, which is false. But it is equally wrong to claim a gift to something other than what it is,

I believe that prophecy and vindication is all around us but man has ignored God for so long that now the mind of many are not focused or noticing or communicating with the spirit of the Lord.

Getting Started
It is not the man per se but the vision, of the Spirit of prophet, like the Spirit of Elijah is subject to the law of a prophet.

The spirit of the prophet does not contradict the laws of a prophet because they are one

A prophet does not contradict the spirit of truth.

A prophet discern both good and evil (Heb 5: 14; Romans 12) an equal balance of a prophet from those who lead, by true scriptures that are not divided by unknown doctrine in other words, that the law must be equal to lead to divine law or an balance by two body’s or angels, failure of communication from the one or many, that leads like a prophet to believe it is failure, by interpretation of doctrine, and not scriptures that are not! equal that leads to divine law, this is failure the result of spiritual death

Failure of the church that is not observe the spirit of the prophet is result of spiritual discernment in the spirit of the prophet of Christ, that will and can lead to judgment or spiritual death

This body’s is subject to the law of a prophet, which is like The Spirit of Elijah

When Christ return the laws of a prophet are complete and fulfilled thus the law of prophet begins

Revelation that comes of a prophet of the New Covenant is to prepare the coming of the Lord, and the coming judgment by a prophet of the New Covenant to observe the spirit or the vision of prophet of the New Covenant, and the old Covenant fulfilled the New Covenant

It seen technical to the untrained eye No congregation without vision the coming judgment, again is the result of judgment, meaning that the sins remain forevermore

The spirit of the prophet does contradict the words of the Most High, but in like any prophet mistake can happen, this way the Spirit of God correct the prophet of God

The prophets a seek

1 Samuel 9:9
(Before time past in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, thus he said, Come, and let us go to the seer; for he that is now called a Prophet was be a for time past called a Seer.)

Your young men shall see visions. The will of God in former times was communicated to the prophets in various ways. One was by visions, and hence one of the most usual names of the prophets were seers. The name seer was first given to that class of men and was superseded by the name prophet. 1 Samuel 9:9, "He that is now called a Prophet was before time pst called a Seer. 1 Samuel 9:11,18,19, 2 Samuel 24:11, 1 Chronicles 29:29, etc. This name was given from the manner in which the Divine will was communicated, which seems to have been by throwing the prophet into an ecstasy, and then by causing the vision, or the appearance of the objects or events to pass before the mind. The prophet looked upon the passing scene, the often splendid diorama as it actually occurred, and recorded it as it appeared to his mind. Hence the recorded rather the succession of images than the times in which they would occur. These visions occurred sometimes when they were asleep, and sometimes during a prophetic ecstasy, Daniel 2:28, 7:1,2,15, 7:2, Ezekiel 11:24; Genesis 15:1, Numbers 12:6, Job 4:13, 7:14, Ezekiel 1:1, 8:3. Often the prophet seemed to be transferred, or translated to another place from where he was; and the scene in a distant land or age passed before the mind, Ezekiel 8:3, 40:2, 11:24, Daniel 8:2. In this case, the distant scene or time passed before the prophet, and he recollected it as it appeared to him. That this did not cease before the times of the gospel is evident. Acts 9:10, "To Ananias said the Lord in a vision," Acts 9:12, "And hath seen (i.e. Paul) in a vision a man named Ananias," etc., i.e. Paul hath seen Ananias represented to him, though absent; he has had an image of him coming into him. Acts 10:3, Cornelius "saw in a vision evidently an angel of God coming into him," etc. This was one of the modes by which in former times God made known his will, and the language of the Jews came to express a revelation in this manner. Though there were strictly no visions on the day of Pentecost, yet that was one scene under the great economy of the Messiah, under which God would make known his will in a manner as clear as he did to the ancient Jews.

Every prophecy foretelling a future event on a biblical scale is Old Testament. Giving clarity to events that deal with current issues already laid out in the Bible is not future prophecy and not providing new biblical scale knowledge.

The Mosaic covenant was followed by the blood covenant given at the Last Supper. The covenant to the houses of Judah and Israel will begin at the rapture. What we live under now will be gone at that time and the church will no longer be here on the earth.
