Romans 14:7-9
King James Version (KJV)
7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
Romans 14:7-9
Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
7 For none of us lives only in relation to himself, and none of us dies only in relation to himself; 8 for if we live, we live in relation to the Lord; and if we die, we die in relation to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord — 9 indeed, it was for this very reason that the Messiah died and came back to life, so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
7 We either live thru Him or die in the flesh but we can by Him die to the flesh to live by Him but as long as we stay in the flesh we will die.
8 Our lives are no longer ours t live but they are His to use as we live for Him. For us to live be time to serve the Lord and for us to die is to serve and praise the Lord in heaven.
9 Christ defeated they grave by Him we also can defeat death and pass from life to life. Jesus died for those who had faith that passed on and those who had not yet come; He died for those who would receive Him on their death bead and those who would receive Him a kid.

Just adding a comment to clark's summary. I think it is talking about spiritual life and death in regards to being alive or dead in the flesh. Either way we who are saved live.
