Romans 10:5-9
KJV(i)5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. 6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) 7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
JuliaSmith(i)5 For Moses writes the justice of the law, That the man having done these things shall live in them. 6 And the justice of faith says thus, Thou shouldest not say in thy heart, Who shall go up to heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down:) 7 Or, Who shall go down to the abyss? (that is, to bring up Christ from the dead.) 8 But what does it say? The word is near thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we proclaim; 9 For if thou confess in thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
5 At one time those that followed the law were righteous, in a similar way today those who follow the Lord will do His will; this does not mean they are perfect. Living by the law did not make them righteous just as it doesn’t today because we all are guilty of breaking the law but because they followed God they kept the law in the way they could.
6 We are not to decide who goes where, that is for the Lord. Someone may be living in a way that leads to hell but they can be one to Christ before it is to late and then there are those who live good in world’s eyes but our not in His fold and they could never come to the Lord. The Lord knows His own and will judge those who are not His; we are not to decide who they are. We are not given salivation by keeping the law but by grace we are given it.
7 If we could keep the law then Christ died for nothing but we can not keep the law so His death gives us hope.
8 We should live a life that allows us opportunity to proclaim the Lord’s truth. Our walk should match what we say. This is for us to have a good testimony of how the Lord has used us. If we are not living a Christ like life, we have to deal with our sins instead of focusing on sharing the word. Often times people try to focus on what they should do while continuing to do what they should not be doing.
9 We confess the Lord. If we truly believe this in our heart, it then will come out of our mouth and we will want to please our Lord because He is the good Lord. A lost man can call Jesus Lord with his mouth but will not truly believe in Jesus. Jesus’ death and resurrection is necessary to the gospel, if it is taken away salvation is taken with it. He is our personal Lord because He came to die for us. He would have been Lord even if He did not die for us but He would not be personal and He is not personal until He is received.
