Open Google Earth and go to Antarctica. The images are from 1998. … and even then there are signs of chlorophyll leaching onto the ice from exposed ground.
There are no more recent images available to the public, so what is going on?

I don't doubt the ice has melted quite a bit and I'll bet you something is going on that we can't know about.
Either an exploitation of what has been uncovered in terms of minerals, fossils, ancient cities..?? Who knows.
I only know that if you can't find photos of it in this day and age then somebody doesn't want you to see it …
