26 But the Yerushalayim above is free, and she is our mother;27 for theTanakhsays,

“Rejoice, you barren woman who does not bear children!
Break forth and shout, you who are not in labor!

26 The Jerusalem from above most likely refers to the New Jerusalem which will be set up by the Lord in at the end of days. New Jerusalem is a place where the world’s distractions will not get in the way of serving the Lord, it is a place like Eden what God first designed for man but only those who are His will be there, free from the persecution of this world. We as Christians are not for this world any more but for Christ and a place He will make for us. Jesus was physically descended from Sarah, even though He was before her. When Israel came to Jerusalem it meant that truly their bondage in Egypt was over and they were free and home, we as Christians have this not thru a land but thru Jesus as our Lord.

27 Sarah was barren but by God’s power she had Isaac who the Jewish people came from. Sarah’s husband would have more children but only the one Sarah bore to him was the one of promise and the one thru whom the world would be changed, which happen when Christ died on the cross and rose again changing things for the better for ever.
