Galatians 4:23-25King James Version (KJV)

23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

Galatians 4:23-25 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

23 The one by the slave woman was born according to the limited capabilities of human beings, but the one by the free woman was born through the miracle-working power of God fulfilling his promise.24 Now, to make amidrashon these things: the two women are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai and bears children for slavery — this is Hagar.25 Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia; she corresponds to the present Yerushalayim, for she serves as a slave along with her children.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

23 Hagar son was just born it was man’s effort to reach God’s promise while Sarah’s son was the child that was promised and came to be thru a miracle of the Lord. Isaac’s birth was a miracle for a barren woman to a child. Ishmael was just a young woman giving birth is a normal thing.

24 Those who choose to live under the law choose to be slaves to it but this does nothing because fault will be found thru them by the law. The law shows us a need for Christ. Mount Sinai was where the law was found. We can choose to be slaves to the law or receive the promise found in the Lord Jesus Christ.

25 It is better for us to slaves to Christ than to the law because thru Him we have promise but thru the law we have guilt.
