Galatians 3:17-18 King James Version (KJV)

17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

Galatians 3:17-18 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
17 Here is what I am saying: the legal part of the Torah, which came into being 430 years later, does not nullify an oath sworn by God, so as to abolish the promise. 18 For if the inheritance comes from the legal part of the Torah, it no longer comes from a promise. But God gave it to Avraham through a promise.

17 God’s promises do not go away after a period of time, God made the promise and it was to happen. God’s promises will happen if they are not fulfilled yet the remaining promises will fulfilled by Christ and to make way for His coming. Christ was the law in the flesh, He alone kept the law.

18 God gave the promise to Abraham and gave the law to Moses, The promise was made before the law was given, God’s promise of Christ coming was not based on whether the people followed Him or not it was to happen because He promised it.
