1 John 3:7-9

KJV7Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

WEB7Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.8He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil.9Whoever is born of God doesn’t commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can’t sin, because he is born of God.

7 John sees all the church as his children due to him being an elder for Christ and those being most likely brought to Christ by John’s helping hand. We live as Christ by living right and this shows that we are His children.

8 Sin is doing anything that against God’s will it is of sin an act of rebellion of God but by Christ our sins have been forgiven so for us to keep having sin means that we are not under the blood but instead under sin. We as Christians are not perfect but thru the blood of Jesus we stand as perfect before God. We are not to live in a rebellion against God because this would mean that we are under sin and under Satan.

9 If we have the Spirit then we can not live for sin, John is saying that once we get inside God’s will and receive His Spirit that the Spirit won’t let us go serve sin, we can’t the Spirit wont let us, God will draw us back in because of His love for us but He may let us seek what we want to teach us something.
