The Law and prophets

have been asked a lot of questions regarding things.... so here we go...

How did Jesus fulfill the law and the prophets?

Do gentiles need to keep the 10 commandments? the mosaic laws?

With the 10 commandments, one says "thou shalt not kill" so can you protect yourself if it ever came down to that?

why do we not keep the mosaic law... as gentiles?

I think this is a good start!

have been asked a lot of questions regarding things.... so here we go...

How did Jesus fulfill the law and the prophets?
We have to be careful on this one.

Christ fulfilled the requirements of the law concerning remission of sin, etc. He did it via his death on the cross for our sins, burial and resurrection to life, leaving those paid for sins in Hell.

We can partake of that fulfillment by repentance in faith in Christ and submission to him.

Sin is still sin, but once saved, always saved. We are then dead to the Law as regards condemnation.

He did not negate the Law. Those who do not repent will go to Hell because they are still guilty and condemned by the Law.
Do gentiles need to keep the 10 commandments?
Yes.
the mosaic laws?
The Mosaic Law had three components:
  • Ceremonial - Those were only on the Jews, never on Gentiles and Chris fulfilled them. He is the sacrificial lamb. He is the blood. He is the High Priest.
  • Government - Again only on the Jews, never on Gentiles. When Israel failed to keep the Mosaic Covenant, it was annulled at the cross and Christ turned to the Church as covenant. And no, that is not the New Covenant as some think. That will be, future, to the Houses of Israel and Judah when reunited after the Rapture of the Church.
  • Social - Still valid guidelines, but not binding as they were then. Christ modified them for the Church.
With the 10 commandments, one says "thou shalt not kill" down to that?
That is an incorrect translation. It actually says 'do not commit murder."
so can you protect yourself if it ever came down to that?
Absolutely. Self protection laws and teachings are in both the OT and the NT.
why do we not keep the mosaic law... as gentiles?
I believe I already answered regarding both the Law and the Covenant.

As for fulfilling the Prophets, his First Coming was prophesied by them and he fulfilled that. His Second Coming will fulfill the rest of the prophecies.
I think this is a good start!

can you explain what is repentence, being still condemned by the Law?

All are sinful in the eyes of God.

Once we are able to understand what sin is, whether we accept it or not, we are condemned to Hell. The Law of Conscience within us all tells us what sin is, so no excuse.

Rebellion and sin became part of our natures when Adam rebelled. We inherited it.

God cannot tolerate sin and will not have it around him. It is disruptive and destructive, so it will never be allowed into his eternal kingdom.

As part of justice sin must be paid.

Repentance is the recognition of that truth. Then the understanding we cannot do anything to save or change our nature.

But God can save us. Christ took on our sins and paid for them. We have to accept that reality.

When we repent, that sin nature is removed from our spirits, not our flesh. That is what the Bible calls the war of two natures within us.

could you explain "once saved always saved" also, those who think they are and are really not.

many think its Jesus plus good works... and never really know they are saved or perhaps not...

The 10 Commandments are still valid. The ones exclusively to Israel are not. Plus the NT ones.apply to all.

Remember, the Ten Commandments are not part of the Mosaic Covenant.

As well, the Abrahamic, Davidic and Rainbow (flooding) are examples of others being part of neither as well.

If you believe you had done good things that have saved you, you are not saved.

The Bible makes it clear there is not single work you can do that has any saving value. All sin must be paid for, it is not a balancing scale where works can outweigh sin.

When born-again, your spirit has its sin nature removed, never to return. As the Bible says you cannot put Christ back on the cross.

Romans 8 makes it crystal clear once someone repents, it is no longer freewill in that regard, it is predestined all the way to glorification.

It definitively says once saved you are in Christ's hand and nothing can remove you.

Some try to say nothing but yourself. But the verse says nothing, period. There is no exception, even yourself..

Born-again changes one so much there is no looking back or desire to become unsaved.

Sorry if a bit disjointed. I am making notes as I listen.

He says 'self appointed prophets,' which is a personal attack meant to discredit people who know the Rapture is in the Bible.

He says some claim that believers will suddenly disagree and be taken to heaven. Matthew 25 says that indeed will happen.

Then he says we will wait things out in heaven. False. We will be engaged in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, judgment of the righteous, etc.

He cites people who date set the Rapture. The Bible says no one but the Father knows, denying such people have any knowledge of the scripture. But, of course he uses it to attack all Rapture believers.

Using one false teacher to support another one is deception.

He has a Post-Trib belief on the Rapture. That fails because:
  • It renders only the Father knows a lie. The second the AC is revealed you can calculate the end of the Trib, to the day.
  • For the AC to appear the Restrainer (Holy Spirit) must be removed. That cannot happen with the Church here because he is in us.
  • At the Rapture, Christ comes unseen, in the clouds, takes us and returns to Heaven. At the Second Coming the whole world sees him accompanied by an army of angels and his Bride, meaning us, the Church.
  • When the Rapture occurs the earth will be normal, going about its daily business in a peaceful manner. There is nothing peaceful about the Trib. 2/3 of the earth's population is dead, the world is in ruin and the AC and his army have been in Israel, in control, for 3.5 years. They know Christ is coming and are gathered to fight him.
  • The Two Witnesses are in Jerusalem for 3.5 years and Israel is restored as the Covenant nation. Not a single mention of the Church for 7 years.
He totally avoids the verses that contradict him.

As for the Last Trumpet, there are many trumpets in the Bible. There are more than on Last Trumpets as well. There was a lost trumpet in OT Israel festivals, etc.

This is the Last Trumpet of the Church, not the 7th Trumpet of Revelation, which is never called a Last Trumpet.

But he calls the 7th Trumpet the Last Trumpet.

He also fails to note there is a resurrection and Rapture of the Two Witnesses at Mid Trib. then another at the Second Coming and then another at the End of Time.

As well, at the end of time is a second resurrection, but this time for the damned, who go before the White Throne for condemnation.

The First Resurrection is from the Pre-Trib Rapture all the way to the end of time. No mention of any trumpet for the Two Witnesses or end of time resurrections and Raptures.

Also note, when he talks of some Christians being protected during the Trib, he has to reinterpret verses that have nothing to do with the Trib.

Why, because there is absolutely not a single mention of the Church or any Christian on this earth during the Trib. It is only Jews.

We also see Trumpets compared to loud thunder, etc.

Finally, and most importantly is how his Living Church of God originated.

As a youth, I listened to the false teachings of Harold W. Armstrong to understand him better.

The name of his TV show was The World Tomorrow

When Armstrong died, his Worldwide Church of God splintered. One of the groups stemming from this is the Living Church of God. Notice the name similarity.

Also notice the TV name similarities, The World Tomorrow and Tomorrows World?

Both teach Anglo Israelism, meaning Anglos are literally the Lost Tribe of Israel, thus Jews.

There is the two groups he is talking about when he says some Christians will be protected, Anglos and all the others..

This is a cult. they deny the Trinity. You can read more about them here.

Also note the deception here. He didn't come right out and say he believes those protected are Jews, he tried to circumvent, misrepresent and avoid contrary verse.
